It’s About Me…
‘I style my experience to offer you an experience in style.’
I Love People & Business
I am an idea person and I love pushing the envelope when it comes to business! So far, I’ve been gifted with two phenomenal careers in two highly-competitive, cut-throat industries, and have explored and experienced the highs and lows of many bleeding-edge spaces, as an investor and entrepreneur. Despite all the amazing projects, savvy accomplishments and gratifying rewards, I have enjoyed working with people, and motivating their spirits, the most.
Despite all the amazing projects, savvy accomplishments and gratifying rewards, I have enjoyed the people, the most.
During the first 12 years of my corporate career, I advanced to a management capacity, in oil & gas companies. When Union Pacific moved their operations to the US, in 1990, I joined the technology craze and spent 6+ years designing, implementing and marketing oil & gas software, at two of the ‘big six’ accounting firms, Coopers & Lybrand and Ernst & Young. When E&Y exited the software business, I forged ahead to grow my own multi-million dollar management consulting company. Those were exciting days, watching our young engineers attract investors, develop and optimize properties, and pump n’ dump thriving companies. The nineties was a flury of activity where many progressed and prospered! We grew up business, a whole technology sector, service industry, government, a bunch of suits, titles and ourselves!
In the corporate arena, my forte is mergers and acquisitions, business design and management, asset integration, software design, implementations and conversions, and change and people management, and as a leading, second-to-none service provider, I’ve served over 125 N.A. Oil & Gas and IT corporations and employed over 350 individuals.
As an entrepreneur, I’ve participated in the purchase and development of 9 inner-city properties, and marketed and promoted 17 music concerts. I was also mentored, for a very short time, by a leading sports motivator/author and speaker, from the UK, and spent 3 seasons performing and testing proprietary motivational principals and techniques, for amateur soccer and hockey.
Feng Shui Practitioner
For 25+ years, I’ve studied, as a student and practitioner, under the teachings, guidance, and mentorship, of the highly-reputatble, and highly-esteemed, Feng Shui Master, Dr. David Lai. I am a Level 3 practitioner.
My Happiness Journey
I am a new Author. My book is called Flow with Your CHO Chief Happiness Officer, FWYC. I first encountered GNH Gross National Happiness (GNH) in Spain, in 2004. Governments were slowly coming to realize that the emotional state of a population really does have impact on a country’s GDP. Though originally founded in Bhutan, in 1978, it was the UK who really began shedding light, and traction, to the research, notions, concepts, benefits, and opportunities, of GNH.
By 2004, I, myself, was noticing an emotional shift in the overall happiness of the vast cross-section of Baby Boomers, and post-Baby Boomers, I was serving. I could visibly see that, in addition to aging, our personal strive for wealth, stuff and stature, was gradually taking it’s toll on individuals, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Interestingly, over the decades, Canada’s wealth per capita has rapidly accelerated yet there’s been very little gain in the overall happiness of the people. Today, our mental health professionals are predicting we will all experience some sort of severe mental health ‘issue’, in our lifetimes.
I’ve written my book, Flow With Your CHO, to guide individuals and organizations in realizing the many proven, and tangible, benefits of happiness. With all due respect to our highly-esteemed doctors, I don’t believe that after just one generation of building, modernization and ‘progress’, we’re all destined to lose our marbles. I just think we’ve been too externally focused, for too long, and need to realign with ourselves, to find and live our best happy. Our need to live happy, is real. It’s the need to focus, that’s temporary. I hope to make a difference by helping to proactively reduce the risk of mental health illness, disease and addiction, in individuals, to collectively increase the GNH, in our nation.
Our forefathers fought for our freedom to live happy and now it’s time to fight for our spirits. Happiness is more than just a feeling and more like an innate intelligence and success is no longer the key to happiness, happiness is the key to success!!! Time to relish in the fruits of our labour and enjoy this new promised we’ve all worked hard to create and live in.
